The Milton Keynes U3A Short Mat Bowls Group started about twenty years ago. After a while the group was unable to continue due to the lack of manpower needed to move the mat and furniture. At this point in 2006 a new group of members was formed.
Short Mat Bowls is a national game with hundreds of clubs. The group is very competitive but enjoys a relaxed atmosphere with half-time refreshments. Previous experience is not necessary and the group provides all of the equipment.
There are about a dozen members in the group, which includes residents of Sudgrove House. This is quite a small number but with only one mat and limited space the group is unable to play with more members. If you are interested in playing Short Mat Bowls, please contact the Group Leader for Bowls Short Mat Group . {As we need to move furniture we can only accept able bodied persons}.
