Exploring the English Language
Do you want to know more about the world’s most popular language? We meet monthly to discuss an English related topic: origins, dialects, names, sounds, styles, jargon, global use, humour, grammar, spelling and many more. The list of possible topics is almost endless. Each month we will invite a group member to choose a topic then do a little research and prepare a short presentation for the meeting, following which members of the group can discuss the topic. We hope it will be fun and perhaps we may even learn something new along the way.
The group meets from 2.00 to 4.00 pm every fourth Thursday of the month at Great Linford Parish Council meeting room. We pay a small fee about every six months to cover the cost of the venue hire.
