Members have varying levels of experience that they can all learn from so novices are very welcome to come and share the joy of learning an instrument.

Starting with simple chords and progressing through 'chord shapes' the group members learn to play music of all types that they each enjoy.

If you haven't yet purchased a ukulele but would like to try out one, you may borrow one from us to find out whether the idea is right for you.

The Ukulele is commonly associated with music from Hawaii where the name roughly translates as 'Jumping Flea'.  According to Queen Lili'uokalani, the last Hawaiian monarch, the name means 'the gift that came here', from the Hawaiian words uku (gift or reward) and lele (to come).
