Tai Chi is a slow and gentle martial art which traces its origins back to the thirteenth century. Tai Chi helps to improve posture, suppleness, balance, breathing, core strength and increase energy levels. There are many styles of Tai Chi and this group learns modern Yang style under the guidance of a professional instructor.
The group comprises both long standing and newer members who meet at Bletchley Youth Centre on Wednesdays between 1500-1600. New members are welcome, however, it is recommended that you should have some previous experience of Tai Chi as the sessions are for Improvers. The lessons are relaxed and a series of gentle warm up and stretching exercises are done at the beginning of each class. The instructor aims to set the lesson to suit everyone’s ability.
The cost of lessons is dependent on the number of members in the group and is currently around £5 per member per week. Once you become a member of the group you are required to pay your weekly fees for all sessions irrespective of whether or not you attend each session. Fees are collected monthly in advance.
You can have up to two trial sessions before becoming a member of the group which will be charged at the going rate for members’ individual sessions that month.
If you are interested you should contact the Group Co-ordinator at the email above. Please include your MKU3A membership number in your email.
