As mobile phone cameras have improved, it has been said that “everyone is a photographer”, and while it might be true that a phone camera is now a remarkable tool, that is all it is…a tool. Cameras don’t make photographs, photographers do.
In order to fully enjoy photography, and to develop your skills as a photographer, it is extremely helpful to be able to understand how a camera works and to recognise what makes an interesting image.
The aim of the group is to begin from the beginning; to learn and understand the principles and techniques of photography behind the technology and apply them to make results that one can be proud of and display, rather than hiding the photos away in a drawer or computer memory never to be seen again.
We meet monthly, either to discuss our photography and learn from one another, or to spend time outside, taking photographs in or around Milton Keynes, including the ones below:
