There is not a corpus of Philosophical Knowledge. There are problems and points of view – that is all. This group will explore a philosophical topic at each meeting after reading extracts of what celebrated philosophers have said about it.
These extracts are sent to members in advance and are available on Facebook page “U3A Philosophers”.
At each meeting a member from the group will introduce the topic. This does not have to be particularly erudite – just a summary of the reading. The rest of the time will be devoted to discussion.
After the meetings thoughts can be posted on the Facebook page or via the group email , so the discussion can be continued.
Members do not need any particular knowledge skills or experience , just a willingness to learn .
