Welcome to MK Striders!

The aim of this group is to help build and maintain a level of stamina which is beneficial to our health. It’s also of course a regular, social opportunity in the great outdoors. We are regularly walking at a pace of around 3.6 miles per hour over a distance of around 3 miles..

I have designed seven walks which we will take in sequence and repeat. The walks are almost exclusively on tarmac Redways.  They can be supplemented as time goes on but familiarity of the routes will help us to easily locate start points and all be familiar with the routes themselves.

Walks will initially be led and ‘paced’ by Frank Parisi.

Walks take place every Monday and Friday morning, starting promptly at 9:30am from the designated free car parks. All walks start and end at the same point.

Below you will find the Walk Schedule and Key Considerations.

Please note all walks are circular.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS:

Please ensure that the walk will be within your capabilities on the day.

If you are not feeling well, please skip the walk.

For prospective members, if you are unaccustomed to walking this distance, please do a separate trial walk before joining a group walk to judge your ability.

Although walking is a simple, natural activity with minimal risk, you are responsible for your own wellbeing and to take appropriate measures and precautions.

Dress appropriately for the weather, with particular attention to sturdy footwear and bring essentials such as water, refreshments and walking poles if you wish.

Please be mindful of other Redway users.
